Sales Information
Peppy, refreshing red whose pale colour belies its punchy flavours of tangy cherry, wood spice and black tea. Very fluid and satiny, with lovely fresh, tart fruit characters, brisk acidity, light tannins and an appetite-stimulating, dry finish.

Good aperitif wine and pairs well too with pizza or ham 'n' cheese toasties.
The Vineyard
Barbera, Italy's 3rd-most planted grape after Sangiovese and Montepulciano, is a high-acid variety that is native to Piemonte. The vineyard yield has an effect on the wine's style: generous cropping results in good but simple wines that are made for everyday, young glugging; controlled yields give more concentrated, velvety wines that can respond well to barrel maturation. Outside Italy, Barbera is planted in California, Australia and Argentina.

Bosio farms 60 acres of vines but buys in grapes from an additional 1,000 or so acres. Dating from 1967, it is run by husband and wife team Valter and Rosella Bosio, who are supported by their son Luca and two other oenologists, Rossano Abbona and Marco Icardi.
