The Vineyard

Marqués de Monistrol is a leading ‘Cava’ producer whose fine sparkling wines have been a byword since their inception in San Sadurni d’Anoia in 1882. The appellation Cava, denoting a premier sparkling wine made by the traditional method, was adopted in Spain in 1970 when it was agreed to defer to France and abandon the term Champaña.

Vinification: The wine is made using the strictest traditional methods. The appellation represents a long process of grape selection, primary fermentation, a second fermentation in the bottle followed by cellar ageing.
