Sales Information
A dark red colored red wine; red fruit and toasted aromas; good balance between tannin and fruit, full bodied, harmonious.
The Vineyard
Under the same management as Château Chasse-Spleen in neighboring Moulis, la Gurgue's 2004 is in a bigger, richer style than many Margaux. It is about structure, dense tannins and firm fruits. It's impressive and likely to age well.
Critics
Wine Spectator
Aromas of currant and blackberry follow through to a full-bodied palate, with juicy fruit and a soft, round mouthfeel. This is better than the 2000. Best after 2008.
Score: 89. -James Suckling, 2007.
Fine Wine with long rich finish, Medium-bodied reds
