Sales Information

Intense, golden yellow, with prominent floral, honey and raisin aromas, this dessert wine from the Muscatel (Muscat) grape is concentrated with full, ripe tropical fruits with a honeyed, sweet finish balanced by tart acidity.

Serve at 10º - 12ºC. Ideal with fois gras, blue cheese, sorbets or fruit salads.

The Muscatel grapes of this Late Harvest come from the northern region, the Pre Andes Mountains, located on the same level as the city of Ovalle. The climate is very dry, without rain during 9-10 months of the year, and with high levels of sunshine that has a great effect on the style. The grapes are kept on the vine until the beginning of winter, while the leaves begin to fall and the grapes slowly dehydrate with the strong and abundant winds of the region.

The grapes are hand picked when the are very mature, when there is a high amount of natural sugar.  Fermentation is carried out over 25 days at very low temperatures to slowly extract the most intense flavours and is bottled after spending two winters in a stainless steel tank.

The Vineyard

Santa Alicia have been producing wines in the heart of Maipo Valley since 1954. With grapes from three select communes, a state of the art winery, and judicious use of the finest American and French oak barrels, we believe the wines represent the highest price/quality ratio in Chile.

In 2007, they were named Chilean Wine Producer of the Year for "best overall results from a Chilean winery" in the prestigious International Wine & Spirit Competition in London.
