Vallobera Crianza Rioja

Dark morello cherry in colour. On the nose, the wine has intense ripe fruit aromas, with hints of dark spices and minerals, giving the wine a fine and elegant character. On the palate the wine reveals perfect harmony, with good body and noble tannins, the correct amount of acidity, full of flavour, satisfying with a long finish and a persistent, well-balanced aftertaste.

Ideal to accompany grilled red meat, game and roasts.

The San Pedro family has centuries-long heritage of vineyard working and winemaking in the village of Laguardia in the heart of Rioja Alavesa. Bodegas Vallobera owns 80 ha of prime vineyards. Vallobera is the highest-located vineyard and, in fact, one of the highest in the whole of Rioja.

Forty percent of the wine was aged in French oak and sixty percent in American oak for up to fourteen months.

Aromas of tobacco, Asian spices, incense, black cherry, and blackberry lead to a medium-bodied wine with good volume, savory flavors, and a lengthy, fruit-filled finish. It will offer prime drinking though 2019." 88 points.
