Yealands Estate Sauvignon Blanc 2008

This is powerful archetypal Sauvignon with a wide spectrum of aromas and flavours, borne out of the harsh growing conditions of the Awatere Valley. There's intense lifted mineral and fresh herb characters on the nose, while the palate is well-structured and elegant with distinct minerality intermingling with the layers of blackcurrant, nettle and zesty citrus on a lingering finish. This certainly sets the standard well above many other 2008 Sauvignon releases.
