Tasting Notes
Seductive deep ruby-red colour. On the nose, this wine offers beautiful complexity with aromas of “garrigue” and red fruit. The palate is complex and opulent but well balanced with silky tannins and hints of black fruit like blackberry and liquorice. A straight and harmonious wine.
Producer
The Famille Perrin wines are classic examples of the villages of the Southern Rhône and the consistent winemaking of the Perrin family. The combination of vibrant fruit and a strong expression of sense of place underlines the value these wines offer.
The Perrin ‘Les Crus’ wines highlight the diversity of certain Southern Rhône Crus, are chosen for their distinctive soils and characters. The Vacqueyras ‘Les Christins’ is sourced from eight hectares of old vines, with an average age of 50 years, managed by the Château de Beaucastel team. The vines are situated to the south of the Dentelles de Montmirail where the soil is rich in clay and sand with stony terraces. This mix lends this Grenache-dominant wine a powerful intensity lifted by a supple, expressive red fruit character. It is predominantly aged in oak foudres with 20% aged in used oak barrels.
